ABOUT KEYBRIDGE

Founded in 2001, Keybridge is a boutique economics and public policy consulting firm based in Washington, DC. We serve as economists, policy experts, and strategic advisers to a diverse clientele that includes Fortune 500 companies, global financial firms, federal government agencies, leading trade associations, non-profit organizations, and institutions that operate at the intersection of economics and public policy. Often our work is presented directly to business and government leaders, including CEOs, state governors, and organization leaders.

Our business is comprised of three practice areas: Macroeconomics, Public Policy, and Social Responsibility & Accountability. Within each of these workstreams, we provide our clients with a suite of analytical and advisory services, including economic modeling and data analytics, policy design and analysis, and strategic planning. We are known for our creative thinking and data-driven approach to addressing complex problems, as well as our ability to convert complex information into clear, accessible, and actionable insights. Keybridge takes pride in developing long-term relationships with clients that position us to operate as a natural extension of their organization and serve as trusted advisers on issues related to economics and public policy.

Keybridge benefits from the diversity of our staff's personal and professional experiences. At Keybridge you will find an active culture that engages in "lunch and learn" sessions on a broad range of topics and regularly holds robust firm-wide discussions about macroeconomic policy issues and public policy developments. We foster a supportive social network in which staff enjoy one another's company, and we regularly organize non-work social events and participate in group volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Keybridge also engages in pro bono work for deserving charities and organizations.

POSITION SUMMARY

As an Economist/Associate, you will work with other members of the Macroeconomics Practice to manage and deliver analytical and consulting services to a variety of clients, including private companies, trade associations, non-profit organizations, and government entities. You will be expected to exercise advanced problem-solving skills and creativity and to apply economic principles and analytical approaches to real-world problems. We have found that successful candidates have a demonstrated interest in how research speaks to public policy issues and are able to work simultaneously and independently across multiple subject-matter areas, quickly learning new topics or methods as needed.

Current areas of focus for our Macroeconomic Practice clients include:

  • Short-, medium-, and long-term outlook for the U.S. economy, including inflation risks, post-pandemic economic effects, and trends in employment, consumer spending, investment spending, etc.
  • Developments in domestic policy, including fiscal, monetary, and trade policy.
  • International economic developments (e.g., health of G20 economies, developments in European Union, Asia, and Latin America).
  • Geopolitical risks, including the future of U.S.-China relations, global financial risks, emerging-market debt issues, rise of global populism, Brexit implications, and other geopolitical developments.
  • State and regional economic developments.
  • Industry and sector-specific issues, including energy and environment, finance, telecommunications, and manufacturing.

This position will provide you with opportunities to develop expertise in a variety of economic and policy topics, as well as apply new skills in an up-tempo work environment. You will work alongside a creative, inter-disciplinary team of economists and policy professionals and engaged clients, breaking new ground in terms of the tactics, tools, and insights our clients use to carry out their mission.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowledge Management and Thought Leadership

  • Maintain a solid and expanding knowledge base around macroeconomic developments and policy issues and engage with and develop a professional network of practitioners and experts in U.S. and global economic issues.
  • Actively contribute to team and client brainstorming sessions to identify clients’ analytical and strategic needs and ways to address them.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Translate complex analytical results into clear and compelling insights that have a clear nexus to client interests and needs.
  • Develop and oversee the development of presentations and written reports for technical and non-technical audiences, utilizing charts, dashboards, infographics, and other forms of data visualization to communicate clearly, concisely, and comprehensively.

  • Provide oversight and mentoring to more junior staff, including delegating tasks, providing feedback, and instructing on analytical frameworks and methods.

You also may be assigned other duties, such as being asked to contribute to internal firm initiatives, playing a mentoring role with a more junior colleague, etc.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in economics, public policy, business, or related field with at least two years of work experience in an economic research, public policy analysis or consulting field.
